About Vusha

A payments and treasury platform for organisations working in Africa

Vusha is built by Paneotech for the finance teams, operations staff and approvers who pay many people in other countries. It replaces UbuntuLink, Paneotech's earlier payments product.

Who Vusha is for

Registered organisations: NGOs and development programmes, companies, schools, public bodies and platforms. The organisation is the client. The people it pays are recipients. They receive money in their own mobile money wallet and never need a Vusha account.

How money moves

Three parts, each with a rule that does not bend.

  1. 01

    Prefunded balances

Your organisation holds one balance per currency. It is funded by bank transfer or through a collection provider, and credited only once the money is confirmed. Nothing is paid out before the money is in.

  2. 02

    Several payment providers

Vusha connects to several providers behind one interface and routes each payout to the best available one for its corridor. No single provider is a point of failure. Vusha keeps its own float with each provider and watches it daily.

  3. 03

    One ledger

Every movement is a balanced double-entry ledger entry. Entries are never edited, only reversed. Each day Vusha compares its books with every provider's statement and investigates any difference.

What Vusha does not do

Vusha moves money for verified organisations from the balance they prefund. It does not hold money for individuals.

  • No consumer accounts or wallets

Only verified organisations open an account.

  • No cards

Vusha does not issue payment cards.

  • No lending

No loans, credit or float advances to clients.

Before an organisation can pay out

Vusha verifies the organisation, its directors and its activity, and asks for the usual company documents. Clients and recipients are screened against sanctions lists and lists of politically exposed persons.

The Deposits screen: balances, the choice between bank transfer and card or mobile money, and the deposit history.
